World Map
Equal Earth図法の世界地形図。大陸と海洋が正しい面積比で描かれる。韓国語地名を重ねて表示でき、印刷が持つ限界まで拡大するとOpenStreetMapが引き継ぐ。
Key Features
- Equal-area projection — Mercator inflates the poles until Greenland looks the size of Africa. Equal Earth draws every landmass and ocean at its true relative area without distorting shapes into unreadability.
- Reads down to the print — Tom Patterson’s public-domain physical map at its full 19,268 × 10,630 pixels, served as a deep-zoom tile pyramid. Zooming runs to exactly where the source runs out rather than blurring past it.
- Korean place names — An optional overlay draws country, city and sea names in Korean, projected with the same maths so they land on the printed features. Countries are letter-spaced the way an atlas spreads a name across the land it names, and appear once the country is big enough on screen to carry one.
- Live coordinates — Latitude and longitude under the cursor, read off the map’s own graticule rather than assumed.
- OpenStreetMap takes over — The print holds detail down to about 2.2 km per pixel. At exactly that limit OpenStreetMap takes the whole window and the printed sheet shrinks into a corner locator; zoom back out through the same point and it hands back. The two scales meet once and tile the whole range between them.
